Five year data presented at the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) Meeting show that erbitux (cetuximab), combined with radiation, increases overall survival in patients with locally or regionally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN).

AVEO Pharmaceuticals has initiated a Phase 1 clinical trial of its HGF MAb SCH900105 (AV-299) in patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors or lymphoma.This triggers a $3.0 million milestone payment from Schering Plough to AVEO.
